Reframing the Diagnosis

A new era in the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease has arrived.

The power of knowing early...

Advances in science are increasing our understanding of Alzheimer’s disease, and how we treat and manage this disease. The stereotype of an older person staring blankly into space while living in the confines of a nursing home no longer matches reality. Instead, we now envision someone living a full and vibrant life in their community.

ALZpathDx - A simple, cost-effective blood test for early diagnosis

ALZpath has developed and launched a novel blood-based biomarker for pTau217 called ALZpathDx. This test has the potential to transform Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis. pTau217 measures the presence in the brain of two toxic proteins that are the hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease: Amyloid plaques and Tau tangles. pTau217 can be present in the brain years before clinical symptoms appear and is a strong indicator of Alzheimer’s disease pathology. Unlike existing invasive diagnostic tools that require brain imaging or a spinal tap, ALZpathDx requires only a simple blood draw, which makes it a more accessible and affordable option.

Continue to live well with Alzheimer’s disease

Part of reframing the diagnosis means a belief in the possibility to live well after diagnosis. While there is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s disease, there are many ways to ensure those living with Alzheimer’s disease can continue a full and satisfying life while taking action to slow the progression of the disease.
