Eric Reiman, MD is an ALZpath Co-Founder and Advisor and the Founding CEO of Banner Alzheimer’s Institute. Following 38 years at Banner Health, he transitioned from his CEO role in October 2026 to focus on Alzheimer’s prevention and the emerging role of blood-based biomarkers. He continues to serve as a Senior Advisor and collaborator at Banner Alzheimer’s Institute and Banner Sun Health Research Institute, participate in the Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative and Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium, and maintain academic relationships with the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, and the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen). He also serves as Board Chair of the Flinn Foundation.
A psychiatrist and brain imaging researcher by training, Dr. Reiman is internationally recognized for pioneering contributions to brain imaging, genetics, multi-omics, and blood biomarker research. His work has helped advance the detection of Alzheimer’s disease before symptoms appear and the development and evaluation of prevention therapies. He has also helped establish landmark research collaborations, including the Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative.
Dr. Reiman has authored more than 800 publications and received numerous honors, including the Potamkin Prize, for his contributions to the study, early detection, and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.
